From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, fiends, and dark forces growing in power within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the party understands precisely where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise started the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading the hidden lair, striking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could assist the party access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Questers and Schemers groups.
Fans can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be in which group in the season’s last Overture episode, available to watch on October 24.
